About Us

The history behind Kressly Pediatrics....turning a vision into reality.

Dr. Kressly came to the Doylestown area in 1990 when she joined a local practice. She valued her colleagues and learned a lot about pediatrics and the area. After 15 years in a larger group practice, she yearned for the opportunity to create a smaller, more personalized environment where she could really get to know her patients and families. Taking advantage of emerging electronic health record technology, patient portals and websites and the expertise and welcoming personalities of Jane and Colleen (yes, they have been with us since the beginning!), Kressly Pediatrics was born in September of 2004.

Having only nursing staff has allowed the office to give advice at the first point of contact (phone call or electronic messaging), and allowed us to schedule efficiently. Our office prides ourselves on respecting everyone's time and trying to keep on schedule to the best of our ability. Our patient portal has allowed families to have information at their fingertips when and where they want it.

When you visit us, you will notice that our office looks like the beach with fish, seagulls, turtles. Dr. Kressly spends as much free time as possible at the beach, but wanted to make sure the beach came with her when she is at the office. You will often find the doctors sitting on the carpeted floor building blocks with toddlers or taking their shoes off in the summer. We want the office to feel welcoming to our patients of all ages in this relaxed environment.

Knowing that Sue couldn't be available 24/7/365, Dr. Karen David joined the practice in 2006 with the same commitment to the core values of the practice: developing personalized relationships with families while providing high quality care. Karen has found the same satisfaction in being part of the medical home that Kressly Pediatrics has established.

Over the past few years, Dr. Kressly has gotten very involved in numerous committees and the leadership of the American Academy of Pediatrics at both the state and national level. In addition, she serves as Pediatric Medical Director for the software company that provides the Electronic Health Record that the practice has used since day one! Sue is having fun impacting the care of children in these broad arenas but still gets the most personal satisfaction providing care to the patients of Kressly Pediatrics.

We were excited to welcome Dr. Sharon Sowinski-Mueller to the practice in 2013. Sharon is not new to the area, having been a part of several Bucks County pediatric practices. She was very excited to become part of the personalized medical home Kressly Pediatrics is committed to providing our families and has been a great addition to our team.

The three physicians and five staff (all nursing trained) work together as a collaborative team to provide care using the most current standards, in a manner which is patient-focused. Thank you for the opportunity to be the pediatric medical home for your family. We love caring for your children and being a trusted part of your lives!

Accepting Limited Number of Newborns/Waiting List for New Patients

Kressly Pediatrics is committed to providing great care and access to our doctors as our first priority. Unfortunately at this time we are not accepting new patients for immediate addition to our patient panels. We take a small number of newborns each month, and ask that older children be registered on our waiting list if you are interested. If you are expecting a newborn and are considering joining our practice:  Click here for instructions on how to create an account which will allow you to register and our staff will contact you. Please see our insurance information page to make sure we participate in your plan. We cannot predict when we will be activating patients on our waiting list, but will do so as space allows. If you have a capitated plan, please do not change your primary care physician until we have confirmed with you that we have activated your family.

Thank you for your interest in our practice. Kressly Pediatrics offers a unique blend of high-quality medical care, personalized interactions and leading edge electronic technology. Our overwhelming success confirms that families share our values. We are committed to providing a pleasant medical setting where children can feel comfortable and parents can feel confident that their children’s medical issues are handled thoroughly and professionally.

Our physicians are committed to maintaining a small, personalized practice where we can develop an ongoing relationship with our patient families. We intentionally limit practice growth so that we are able to accomplish our practice goals.

If you are new to our practice, please note that personalized care is the focus of every patient encounter. Our staff answers the phone directly; there is no automated attendant. We believe that our focus should be on our patients. At the same time, we use cutting edge technology (web site, email access, electronic medical records) to improve office efficiency and give parents convenient access to commonly requested information such as vaccination records, appointment and referral requests, prescription refills and school/camp forms.

Thank you for your interest and support.
